Below is a list of the volunteer positions for the Falcon Foundation, the Archie Williams High School Parent Foundation. Any open positions for the 2023-2024 school year are noted as such. - Lead organization in achieving short term and long term goals.
- Develop and manage an annual fundraising strategy.
- Prepare Board meeting agendas.
- Preside over Board meetings.
- Participate in the annual budgeting process with the Managing Director.
- Maintain strong relationships with AWHS administration and District counterparts at other schools.
- Ensure that AWHS Falcon Foundation is represented at District and community meetings by attending or delegating a Board Member to attend.
Vice President (OPEN)

- Assist the Board President in leading the organization in achieving short term and long term goals.
- Preside over Board meetings if the Board President is not able to attend.
- Maintain strong relationships with AWHS administration and District counterparts at other schools.
Secretary (OPEN)
(11 Board Meetings + 1 Hour/Month)
- Take minutes at all Board meetings.
- Send minutes to the Managing Director at least two weeks prior to the next meeting.
Treasurer
(11 Board Meetings + 1-2 Hours/Month)
- Participate in the annual budgeting process with the Board President and Managing Director.
- Ensure oversight of Managing Director financial responsibilities.
- Oversee the Fall and Spring grants review and approval process.
- Pay Managing Director on a monthly basis.
Family Giving Chair
(11 Board Meetings + 4-5 Hours/Month)
- Develop Family Giving Campaign strategy with the Board Leadership Team and Managing Director.
- Work with the Managing Director and Communications Chair to execute the strategy.
Business Partner Program Chair (CO-CHAIR POSITION OPEN)
(11 Board Meetings + 10-15 Hours September-October + 1 Hour/Month Other Months)
- Manage the annual business partner campaign.
- Maintain strong relationships with towns of San Anselmo and Fairfax.
Athletic Committee Chair
(11 Board Meetings + 3-5 Hours/Month)
- Represent the broader athletic community at AWHS and act in support of all athletic teams and clubs.
- Oversee the committee and process that distributes funds set aside annually by the Board to fund athletic requests.
- Run 4-5 Athletic Committee meetings a year to review and approve funding requests. Determine the frequency, timing, location and agenda for all meetings.
- Ensure all funding requests meet both AWHS Falcon Foundation and Athletic department criteria.
- Partner with the Athletic Director and Assistant Principal overseeing athletics.
- Attend District Athletic meetings as required.
Communications Chair
(11 Board Meetings + 2-4 Hours/Month)
- Develop overall communications strategy with the Board Leadership Team and Managing Director.
- Work with the Managing Director to execute awareness campaigns, email communications and social media posts.
Student Events Chair
(11 Board Meetings + 1-8 Hours/Event)
- Oversee the planning and execution of all student events.
- Recruit and organize event coordinators and/or committees in a timely manner.
- Create and/or maintain documentation for all events as needed.
Family Education Events Chair (CO-CHAIR POSITION OPEN)

- Oversee the planning and execution of all family events.
- Recruit and organize coordinators and/or committees in a timely manner.
- Ensure that events are marketed via the various communication channels available (website, newsletters, emails, etc.)
Staff Appreciation Events Chair (CO-CHAIR POSITION OPEN)

- Oversee the planning and execution of all staff appreciation events.
- Recruit and organize coordinators and/or committees in a timely manner.
- Create and/or maintain documentation for all events as needed.
SchoolsRule Liaison
(11 Board Meetings + 2 Hours/Month)
- Represent the Foundation at monthly SchoolsRule meetings.
- Provide updates to the Board on SchoolsRule activities, events, volunteer needs, etc.
Class Representative - 1-2 Per Grade (POSITIONS OPEN)
(11 Board Meetings + 1-2 Hours/Month)
- Work with other Class Reps to organize at least one social event per year. Budget will be provided by the AWHS Falcon Foundation.
- Represent his/her grade, and strive to build community within that grade.
- Help to recruit coordinators or rally volunteers for the specific events relevant to a grade level.
- Communicate to their grade community via email on a quarterly basis.
- Attend the Falcon Families Connect group for your class.
- Participate in at least one other Board activity or committee, e.g. fundraising, business partner program, staff appreciation events, etc.

Falcon Families Connect (FFC) Facilitators - 2 per class (CLASS OF 2027 POSITIONS OPEN)
Summer Opportunities Fair Coordinator
(15-20 Hours November - February)
College & Career Center Events Coordinator
(15-20 Hours October - May)
- Falcon Families Connect groups are grade-specific meetings for parents/caregivers of Archie Williams High School students.
- Each group is guided by 2 facilitators.
- The groups meet five times throughout the year and serve as a place for parents/caregivers to connect, learn, stay informed and support one another as their child(ren) attends high school.
Summer Opportunities Fair Coordinator
(15-20 Hours November - February)
- Oversee the planning and execution of the annual Summer Opportunities Fair for students which takes place in February each year.
- Recruit and organize volunteers as needed.
- Ensure that the event is marketed via the various communication channels available (website, newsletters, emails, etc.)
College & Career Center Events Coordinator
(15-20 Hours October - May)
- Partner with Lisa Neumeier in the College & Career Center to organize 2-3 student events over the school year.
- Recruit and organize volunteers as needed.
- Ensure that the event is marketed via the various communication channels available (website, newsletters, emails, etc.)
COMMITTEES
Athletic Committee
(8-12 hours August - May)
The Athletic Committee is the group responsible for managing and distributing the money set aside each school year to fund athletic requests. The Committee is made up of 1-2 Board Members, the Athletic Director, the Assistant Principal who oversees athletics, as well as 2-4 other parent/guardian volunteers and meets at least 4 times a year to review funding requests.

Support the Business Partner Program Chair in marketing our Business Partner Program to local businesses.
Family Education Events Committee
Support the Family Education Events Chair(s) in the planning and execution of educational events over the course of the school year. Committee members will be asked to help with 1-2 events for a total of 5-10 hours over the school year.
Fundraising Committee
Support the Fundraising Chair(s) in the execution of our annual fundraising strategy over the course of the school year. Committee members will be asked to contribute 5-10 hours over the school year to help with any of the following tasks: phone calls, email outreach or the organization of fundraising events.
